Feeding sharks has much in common
With ‘most any love affair.
Dangerous? Of course, but such fun
For all those who dare
Look for treacherous excitement,
While pretending to be brave;
Rushing blindly, gladly, madly,
To their own untimely grave.
Yet although love bites, unlike shark bites,
Rarely leave any visible traces,
The victim is still wounded for life
And sweetly aching in numerous places.
