A pictorial guide to The Influence

For a novel to attract readers and continue to captivate them, it always needs to fulfil the three Ps: a twisty Plot, a believable Protagonist and an exotic Place. The plot is there (And, oh boy, you’ve no idea just how far it’s going to take you, do you?), as well as the protagonists (or possibly antagonists, it’s up to you to figure it out until further notice); now you may want to have a closer look at the places mentioned in the novel.

If you enjoy reading The Influence, you may like The Reader’s Companion just as much, put together by Alex in his inimitable verbose (and often brutally honest and scathing) commentary about everyone and everything. Check it out here. And, just in case, if someone in Malaysia reads it and suddenly gets overcome by patriotism and considers it seditious, I can honestly state that I’ve had no influence over Alex and his usual scathing and contentious observations. Neither do I necessarily agree with much of his expressed views. I just present them as they’ve been presented to me.
