Woman is the … of the world

I would’ve used the whole unredacted line from Lennon’s song, but in the currently politically charged climate with mindless millennial morons mostly calling the shots, I refrained from it just to be on the safe side. If you don’t know the song, do look up the lyrics and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

And so the world has woken up to the plight of minorities everywhere, marching together for their rights and a better tomorrow in every capital around the globe. I applaud it. I honestly do. But how about the rights of another group that has not had a true voice for centuries? Demeaned, ignored and reviled, this group, although never a minority throughout the human history, has always been treated with either contempt or playful disdain. Why? I wish I had a simple, satisfying answer, or at least one that I could use to try to explain, certainly not condone, my fellow males’ idiotic behaviour.

But that’s not really what this is about. And this is where it very much becomes a female issue. Because – in my experience – for every two male idiots spouting nonsense, anywhere in the world, there will be at least one female quietly nodding and agreeing to their stupidity, just because they’re men. JUST BECAUSE THE’RE MEN??? Are you fucking shitting me???

Come on, girls and women all over the world – unite in your very much reasonable and natural request to be seen as equal to us men! Fight against FMG and subservience and male dominated religions in the developing world, fight for equal rights and equal pay in the developed one! Because you’re more than worth it and because right now you’ve got more males on your side, ready to fight for you, than you ever thought possible. But you are the ones that have to kick-start the movement! Just get on with it!
